Free OpenVMS for Education

HP has announced the OpenVMS Educational License Program, making available single user OpenVMS Base Licenses and over 100 OpenVMS layered products to any educational institution, their staff, administration and students at no cost.

This is a tremendous opportunity for all educational institutions to use the worlds leading e-business operating system for learning or administration applications. Embedded technologies within OpenVMS includes HP Secure Web Server (Apache), HP Java, Compaq COM and Attunity Connect (Native JDBC).

OpenVMS runs on the industry leading HP AlphaServer RISC hardware and the older VAX technology. The single user Base License of the Educational License Program is upgradable under the Campus-wide Software License Grant (CSLG) to multi-user usage.
